If you’re looking for a subcompact SUV that’s packed with great features for a phenomenally low price, then you should probably be checking out the Chevy Trax. This small SUV has been making big waves during its time on the market. In fact, Car and Driver named it one of the “10Best Trucks and SUVs” for 2024, and it won “Best Car of the Year” from Cars.com in the same year. That’s a lot of attention for a little SUV. However, when you get to know the Trax, you’ll see why drivers and critics rave about it.

If you’re after a Chevy Trax for sale in Dallas, work with the team here at Online.cars. We deliver terrific used cars to shoppers nationwide. We know that the innovative and energetic people of Dallas will particularly like how tech-savvy the Trax is. Plus, with even a brand-new Trax boasting a very wallet-friendly price tag, you won’t believe the types of deals you can find on a pre-owned one. And when you stick to recent model years, you’ll find tech features up to the standards of today’s drivers. Here’s a look at some of our favorite tech features that you’ll find in the Chevy Trax.

Available 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot

We know that today, drivers and passengers can’t waste a moment away from the Internet. If you’re driving passengers around downtown Dallas, they’ll want to keep up with emails and check the news. So they’ll appreciate that the Trax has an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect to up to seven devices. For reference, that’s more than one device per passenger because the Trax seats five people. So if one passenger needs to cross reference something from social media on their smartphone while typing something up on Google Docs with their laptop, they can. How’s that for a business-friendly vehicle?

The great fuel economy of the Trax will probably inspire some road trips outside of Dallas, too. If you’re driving with young passengers who get easily bored and restless in the backseat, they’ll love being able to stream shows and play games (and maybe do some homework) from the Trax, thanks to the Wi-Fi hotspot. You can also take advantage of the hotspot yourself when the vehicle is parked, such as when picking up passengers or waiting for your kid’s sporting event to end.

Smartphone Compatibility and All Its Perks

Any Trax made since 2017 will get you standard smartphone compatibility, which means you’ll be able to control your Apple or Android smartphone apps on the touchscreen. It also means that your turn-by-turn directions for your preferred navigation app will show up there—and it’s much easier to see them there than on your tiny phone screen.

Guess what’s more? On compatible vehicles, you can connect your Trax to Siri or Google Assistant and use your voice to give the system commands. You’ll just press the push-to-talk button on your steering wheel or use the system’s wake-up word like “Hey Google” and ask it to do things like look up directions or change the song for you.

With phone compatibility comes Bluetooth compatibility, and the Trax can actually sync up to two devices at once. So, even if you want to keep your phone available to take calls, your co-pilot can still use theirs to play DJ and get everyone pumped for the trip (but if you’re not willing to give someone else control over the playlist, we totally get it).

Plenty of Powering Possibilities

Well, you know you can utilize your smartphone and other devices in the Trax to do all sorts of things. The next obvious question is: what happens if you need to charge your devices on the road? Chevy thought of that and put multiple USB charging ports in the Trax, so you and a passenger can both power up things like phones and tablets on the go. Plus, there’s even a 120-volt household power outlet in the rear of the center console. So passengers can even plug in their laptops and other 120-volt compatible devices. This outlet can also be used to power appliances for tailgating or camping.

Rear Park Assist

Getting in and out of tight parking spots is never easy—especially on busy nights in Dallas when the streets are buzzing with all of the folks heading out for a meal or to check out some live music. When you find a rare parking spot, it could be small, and you’ll need all the help you can get to get in and out of it. That’s where rear park assist comes in.

When you’re traveling in reverse at low speeds, rear park assist kicks in and can let you know when you’re getting too close to stationary objects like a wall or another parked vehicle. It relies on ultrasonic sensors on the rear bumper that can detect items up to eight feet away. It will start by emitting slow beeps when you’re near something. The beeps will increase in frequency as you get closer to the object. If you get too close, you’ll see distance-to-object info on your driver information screen.

Remote Vehicle Start

Dallas summers are notoriously hot and humid. When you get in your vehicle, you probably don’t want to sit around waiting for the air conditioning to kick in. You don’t have to, thanks to the remote vehicle start system available in the Trax. This allows you to activate the climate control before you get into your vehicle. So you can get into a perfectly cooled cabin and instantly escape the Dallas summer air. Remote start can also come in handy on cold winter mornings to warm your car up before your commute.

Chevrolet Connected Access

When you live a fun and busy life in Dallas, you might not always remember to check on how your vehicle is doing or bring it in for service. Luckily, the Trax includes Chevrolet Connected Access. So, what is Connected Access? It gives you vehicle diagnostics that will let you know when something’s wrong with your vehicle. It will also give you important maintenance reminders so you know when it’s time to bring your Trax in for routine services like oil changes and tire rotations. You don’t need to be fumbling through your owner’s manual or calling one of our affiliated service centers to know when it’s time for service—your SUV will tell you. Isn’t that thoughtful of it?
